The forest property consists of 37.96 ha, species include Picea sitchensis (SS 65%), Larix kaempferi (JL 27%) and Quercus robur (Pedunculate Oak 8%). This forest was established via the afforestation grant system. It is located in the townland of Laragh (Tinahely) approximately 4km northwest of the village of Shillelagh, in County Wicklow. The forest has plenty of boundary hedgerows/Riparian zones/scrub/old broadleaf trees/management roads to enhance the biodiversity value of the forest.
The area was planted in 1994 (Approx. 13.5 ha) and 1995 (Approx. 23.5 ha).
